Close Design is delighted to showcase The Rainbow Collection, in collaboration with artisan ceramicist and sculptor, Bianca Pintan. Bianca Pintan was born and raised in Brazil and is now based in the coastal town of Byron Bay, Australia. Following a captivating inner call of intuition, she began her journey into creating art through the medium of ceramics. Having always worked hands-on, the art of ceramics came naturally to her, as though her hands had memorized these movements before. As a self-taught artist, Bianca Pintan uses this to her advantage, being open to receiving inspiration rather than searching for it, and exploring the realm of ceramics with a playful curiosity. Her pieces are all hand-built, using her own unique techniques. Bianca Pintan allows the clay to guide her into whatever shape is wanting to be birthed, stretching the clay to its limits, and creating an exceptional relationship with her medium. Each Bianca Pintan piece is hand-crafted from Australian clay in her Byron Bay studio. Irregularities in colors and surfaces are inevitable during the making process and should be embraced. For cleaning, we recommend hand washing in warm soapy water with a soft cloth or a nonabrasive utensil to avoid scratching. This will prolong the life of your piece. The vases are watertight. The wall sculptures are waterproof.
