Blue Sapphire Curved Moon Handmade Pottery Vase
This medium-sized vase has a distinct and free-flowing curvature that is lovingly molded and crafted by hand. The rivets on its surface, characteristic of Bianca Pintan, bring depth and individuality to each unique piece. The pure cobalt blue pigment changes shades from light to dark with the time of day and as the light plays with its riveted design. Each handmade ceramic vase is handcrafted by Bianca Pintan in her studio in Byron Bay, Australia. The piece is designed with the intention to bring energy and excitement to the space in which it is placed, whether it be a lounge, foyer, hotel lobby, or restaurant. This cobalt blue handmade ceramic vase sits proudly as a stand-alone piece or can be combined with other pieces in The Rainbow Collection.
The Moon vase has a swollen, spherical shape and comes in deep cobalt blue. Made from raw ceramic and traditional processes, the vase has a matte, unglazed finish that reflects wonderfully in the changing light of the day and seasons. Each of these handmade pottery vases is handcrafted by artisan ceramist Bianca Pintan in her Byron Bay studio. The Moon Vase is part of a collection that is designed to bring energy and excitement to the space within which it is placed. This Moon handmade pottery vase works perfectly as a stand-alone piece and also compliments other pieces in the Rainbow Collection.
In Feng Shui, the circle represents continuity, unity, harmony, wholeness, and the never-ending cycle of life. A circle is perfect, mysterious, and without edges or weaknesses. With its large spherical shape, the Moon Vase is a powerful symbol of strength and integrity that can help ground and enliven any home or space.
Close Design is delighted to showcase The Rainbow Collection, in collaboration with artisan ceramicist and sculptor, Bianca Pintan. Bianca Pintan was born and raised in Brazil and is now based in the coastal town of Byron Bay, Australia. Following a captivating inner call of intuition, she began her journey into creating art through the medium of ceramics. Having always worked hands-on, the art of ceramics came naturally to her, as though her hands had memorized these movements before. As a self-taught artist, Bianca Pintan uses this to her advantage, being open to receiving inspiration rather than searching for it, and exploring the realm of ceramics with a playful curiosity. Her pieces are all hand-built, using her own unique techniques. Bianca Pintan allows the clay to guide her into whatever shape is wanting to be birthed, stretching the clay to its limits, and creating an exceptional relationship with her medium. Playing with the textural elements of shape and light, her pieces tell a unique story each time you view them. “I love intuitively experimenting with the clay, stretching it to its limits, working with its natural form, witnessing it transform into a sculptural piece that interplays the elements of light, texture, color, and depth” —Bianca Pintan
